2023 Campus Organizing Fellowship

Campus Organizing is a uniquely innovative, exciting, and challenging program that is essential to energizing and growing the Democratic base. This year, PA is working to build the largest campus organizing program the commonwealth has ever seen. By starting earlier than ever before, Pennsylvania campus fellows have an unprecedented opportunity to engage and turn out new voters in a state with more colleges and universities than any other swing state.

Campus Fellows will be the backbone of Battleground PA’s student program. Fellows will work with organizers to engage students and young people in the electoral process and turn them out to vote for Democrats in 2023.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support regular student group meetings on assigned campus

  • Recruit for volunteer events on campus including but not limited to canvasses, phone banks, and text banks

  • Register students to vote in order to expand the electorate

  • Organize through relational networks across campus, both in-person and digitally

  • Engage and partner with Democratic clubs, chapters, progressive organizations and campus leaders

  • Turn out the school’s progressive student body to vote in November 2022

The Ideal Campus Fellow is / has:

  • Exceptionally well organized and strong time management skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds

  • Flexible, adaptable and solutions-oriented

  • Comfortable with using technology including SMS, social media platforms and voter database

  • Has access to a vehicle or other reliable transportation

  • Able to work in-person on your assigned campus from January through April 2022

  • Demonstrated passion for the Democratic platform and excitement about building the campaign on campus to recruit a broad, diverse coalition of young Democrats

  • Willing to work substantial hours on a college campus, including outside of traditional work hours

  • Someone who eats ambiguity for breakfast and thinks on their feet

Previous campaign experience is not required.

Campus Fellows will report to the Campus Organizer.
