Job Title : Training and Leadership Manager

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Reports to: General Election Director

The Pennsylvania Democratic Party and Biden for President are hiring a State Training Manager to work with our wide-scale organizing operation to ensure organizers, volunteers, and regionals are equipped with all of the materials they need to be successful.

Training Directors will report to the General Election Directors to implement staff and volunteer training programs focused on persuading and mobilizing voters for 2024 presidential nominating contests.

In this position you will:

  • Work with Organizing Managers to develop and implement a statewide training plan for staff and volunteers;

  • Run regular in-person and remote trainings to on-board and develop our organizers in the state, ensuring they have the context, skills, and practice needed to be successful;

  • Run in-person and remote trainings and organizing meetings for our volunteers, ranging from how to canvass, phonebank, organizing and engage their networks, and more;

  • Draft and implement a plan for intentional leadership development of all staff managers on the organizing team

  • Other responsibilities as assigned;

Top things we’re looking for:

  • At least three cycles of field and / or digital organizing experience and at least two cycles of direct staff management;

  • Strong commitment to Democratic politics and ideals and enthusiasm for electing Joe Biden and Democrats up and down the ballot;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written including wide scale ability to generate clear and concise training materials in doc and powerpoint form;

  • Strong ability to build relationships;

  • Experience developing and running in-person or virtual trainings for staff or volunteers;

  • Goal-oriented and self-disciplined; able to meet tight deadlines and multitask;

  • Willing to learn campaign technology including Reach, Mobilize America, and more;

  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment;

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends.

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle.

This role is a full time, in person role located in Philadelphia, PA.
